A Leave of Absence form must be completed for all appointments (Doctor, Dentist, Hospital, Speech Therapy etc.) for Headteacher approval and be accompanied with the appropriate appointment letter.

The Local Authority will now have no option but to consider issuing a Penalty Notice for any leave of absence taken if unauthorised by the Head teacher. Holidays taken during school term time will no longer be authorised due to new government legislation. A penalty notice fee of £120.00 will be charged to each parent and carer for each child. Failure to pay could result in prosecution by the Local Authority. This means, for example, for two children, a penalty within a family would be £480!
