SEND

Equality including SEND

At Callis Grange we adhere to the Equality Act 2010 including the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), in that the school does not unlawfully discriminate against pupils because of their sex, race, disability, religion or belief or sexual orientation. In addition to this – for adults – age, pregnancy and maternity.

A range of equality information is available to demonstrate how we meet the requirements.

The school is required to publish Equality Objectives every four years.

The Equality Act 2010 requires the school to implement an accessibility plan which aims to:

  • increase the extent to which disabled pupils can participate in the curriculum;
  • improve the physical environment of the school to enable disabled pupils to take better advantage of education, benefits, facilities and services provided; and
  • improve the availability of accessible information to disabled pupils.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disabilities

The following policies are adhered to at all times:

The Local Authority’s Special Educational Needs and Disability Local Offer is published at www.kent.gov.uk .  It provides a range of information about Special Educational Needs and Disability.
